Nagashima Resort, in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, is about 30 minutes from Nagoya by expressway. It brings together an amusement park (Nagashima Spa Land), a day-trip hot spring (Yuami no Shima), the Nabana no Sato garden and a large outlet mall. Most visitors from overseas know it for the Nabana no Sato illumination. This guide is about the rest of the resort, and especially the hot spring, which is easy to add to a winter evening. For the illumination itself, see our Nabana no Sato guide.
Key takeaways
- Yuami no Shima is the resort’s day-trip hot spring. In November 2026, bathing starts at 10:00 am. The last entry is 8:00 pm on most days, and 10:00 pm on busy days.
- The Yuami no Shima ticket also covers admission to Spa Land, without rides. The official price table lists adults at 2,500 yen, 1,900 yen from 3:00 pm and 1,400 yen from 7:00 pm.
- A rock-bath (ganbanyoku) set costs a flat 800 yen extra, and is sold only at the on-site ticket counter.
- A direct bus runs from the Meitetsu Bus Center in Nagoya. Nagashima Resort says the fastest trip takes about 50 minutes, excluding traffic.
- Parking for a standard car is 1,000 yen, cash only.

What is at the resort
The official site groups the facilities under four headings: play (Nagashima Spa Land), heal (Yuami no Shima), see (Nabana no Sato) and shop (Jazz Dream Nagashima, run by Mitsui Shopping Park). There are also hotels on the site and a children’s museum. We cover the parts that matter most to a visitor staying in Nagoya.
Yuami no Shima: the day-trip hot spring
Yuami no Shima has two bath areas and a rock-bath area. The official site says the men’s and women’s baths are swapped by season, so you can enjoy a different bath each time. In October and November 2026, the two baths are called the Oirase Gorge bath and the Kurobe Gorge bath. We could not check which bath is which sex on a given day, so ask at the desk.

- Other days. The facility is open until 9:00 pm, and the last entry is at 8:00 pm.

Prices
The official ticket table lists the “Yuami no Shima ticket,” which includes the day-trip hot spring and admission to the amusement park. Rides cost extra.
| Visitor | Regular | From 3:00 pm | From 7:00 pm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adult | 2,500 yen | 1,900 yen | 1,400 yen |
| Elementary school student | 1,500 yen | 1,200 yen | 900 yen |
| Child from age 2 | 800 yen | 700 yen | 500 yen |
- Rock bath. The table lists a flat 800 yen for a rock-bath set, sold only at the on-site ticket counter. The rock bath is for elementary school students and older, and elementary students need a guardian. Children younger than that cannot use it.
- Rides. Unlimited rides at Spa Land cost an extra 5,200 yen for adults at the regular price and 3,600 yen from 3:00 pm. The table gives other prices for children and seniors.
Spa Land
Nagashima Spa Land is a large amusement park. In November 2026 the official calendar shows closing times of 4:30 pm on most days, 5:00 pm on November 3, 7 and 8, and 7:30 pm on November 1, when rides close earlier at 6:00 pm. The page says gates close 30 minutes after closing time on most days, and that Spa Land has maintenance closures. A separate notice lists the dates. Because the park closes early in winter, the evening is better spent at the hot spring or at Nabana no Sato.
The outlet and Nabana no Sato
Jazz Dream Nagashima is a Mitsui outlet mall at the resort. The Nabana no Sato illumination is on from October 17, 2026 to May 31, 2027, according to the resort’s site. Nabana no Sato’s hours in November are from 10:00 am, with entry closing 30 minutes before the facility closes at 9:00 pm on most days, or at 10:00 pm on the busy days listed above.
The resort’s own page sells a plan that combines Jazz Dream Nagashima and Nabana no Sato. Several tours do the same from Nagoya.
Getting there from Nagoya
- Direct bus. Nagashima Resort says a direct bus runs from the Meitetsu Bus Center in Nagoya (Meieki), and the fastest trip takes about 50 minutes, excluding traffic. A separate direct bus runs from Oasis 21 in Sakae. The page does not list fares or the boarding stop, so check the timetable page or the bus operator before you go.
- By train. Take a JR or Kintetsu train to Kuwana Station, which has a direct bus to the resort. The resort’s page links to Yahoo! Transit for times and fares.
- By car. About 30 minutes from Nagoya by expressway. Parking is 1,000 yen for a standard car, 2,000 yen for a vehicle over 5 meters long, and 200 yen for a motorcycle. Payment is cash only, per the official page.

A simple evening plan
This is our suggestion, not an official plan. Check the hours for your day.
1. Take the direct bus from Nagoya in the afternoon. 2. Arrive after 3:00 pm to use the cheaper hot-spring ticket price. 3. Soak at Yuami no Shima. 4. Go on to Nabana no Sato for the illumination if you have a ticket. The resort’s site lists an on-site shuttle bus, so check its page. 5. Take the bus back to Nagoya. Check the last departure before you start the evening.
Practical tips
- Bring a small towel, and check at the desk whether you can buy or rent one.
- Tattoo rules vary. Ask at the desk, because we could not confirm Yuami no Shima’s policy.
- If you have never used a Japanese hot spring, read our onsen etiquette guide.
- The resort’s site says the Centrair Airport bus service is suspended, so do not plan around it.
